Katie has been involved in opera from an early age as both a performer and a scholar.  Prior to joining OPERA America, Katie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Voice Performance from Boston University.  During her undergraduate carrer, she served as the Music Program Administrator for the Marsh Chapel Choir at Boston University.  Katie went on to earn a Master of Music in Musicology, during which time she wrote her thesis on Thomas Ades' opera, The Tempest.  While continuing her studies in performance and classical vocal music scholarship, Katie has also begun writing music reviews of pop music.  Her reviews can be found on kevchino.com.  Katie is a voice student of Neil Semer.
